Guns All Done

Well I decided to just push on and get the light guns finished. Everything, apart from the bases, is painted…

I have painted the pva water mix over the sand so should be ready to get the bases painted tomorrow evening.

As these are light guns then I decided that the stands would be less gaudy.

I also did a smidge on a couple of the Flintloque miniatures that I started in about April.

Cows and Guns

I wish I could have written cows with guns there, but never mind. I worked on the 6mm Italian wars artillery this evening and got four of the six guns done. To hide the base I added some terrarium sand. This needs sealing before painting which is why it is still a natural colour.

The cows need a nkt of work on them.. things like the horns etc, but I am going to leave them pretty much the same colour that they are now.

Whoops!

Now I am not an electrician, nor am I any kind of expert, but I really don’t think that this is meant to be in my light switch…

Looks like the roof has had a leak for a while at the other end, but this one is new.

The rain was apocalyptic, with wind from the South East, which us unusual, so it evidently found a gap somewhere!

To be fair to myself, this was the first thing that I ever built and in all honesty I knew that the roof would need replacing eventually. I just cannot believe that the felt only lasted 11 years, when it Should have only done five!

All Cannons Great and Small

Or to be ore accurate, really small big cannons… yes I worked on the larger artillery pieces this evening and got a bit more done…

Not a huge amount of progress but I am slowly chipping away. I think I needed a break away from these for a little while as J was getting burned out… not really surprising as there were pikes as far as the eye could see…

I also added a bit more colour to my German Aether fleet….

They are getting closer to being finished. I am not too struck on the copper colour and will probably either shade it a bit or more likely repaint it in a brass colour… only problem is… I only have Army Painter Metallics and frankly they are crap.

Oh yeah while I remember, I came in this evening and went to pull the light cord and noticed it was wet in my porch, luckily for me I noticed… the roof must have sprung a leak in the apocalyptic rain we have had over the last couple of days. It decided to fill the light switch with water. Luckily past Stephen built in a switch to isolate it…. guess what I am up to tomorrow before more apocalyptic rain and wind arrives.

Ironclads…an Update

This evening I was feeling a bit better so I managed to get some work done on the German Fleet…. Still a long way to go, but definitely getting there….

I hollowed out the asteroid, but made the walls too thin, so will do it again tomorrow.

I also did some 6mm Italian wars stuff started too…

Getting Silly

This Lurgey is crap and it can just sod right off. I am absolutely fine unless I try and do something foolish like walk the 6 metres from the bedroom to the kitchen.

You will be pleased to know that I actually managed to get something done today. Yes I magnetised the guns on the Ironclads, okay I had to go and have a lie down afterwards, but I didn’t want you all to think that I was sitting on my arseall day, okay, to be fair that’s a pretty accurate description of my day…

I stuck them upright in the pots to prove they were magnetised.

To make sure he polarity was correct. I glued one into a gun then put another one on top of it. I then put superglue in the hole on the deck and then placed the gun in position. This was then slid sideways to leave the magnet in situ. I had a few false starts but got there in the end.

Feeling Bleurgh…an Update

Still feeling crap, and wasn’t in work today. I won’t be there tomorrow either. I spent most of the day sat on the sofa under a blanket, but did manage to get some more bits sliced for Ironclads.

My magnets also came to allow for guns to be changed etc on the vessels.

This evening I have been mainly watching YouTube…right now I am onto Bob Ross….https://youtu.be/mT0RNrTDHkI

When I worked as an outdoor centre coach we would have the TV on in the common room. Sadly for the boss, his morning briefing would co-incide with the Joy of Painting. Poor chap never stood a chance.

Feeling Bleurgh

The weather today was chappy and furthermore I have spent most if the day feeling cold and headachey. I blame my good lady for giving me the bleurgh. She has spent the last three days in and out of bed. I did manage to undercoat the guns and will hopefully get them started sometime soon…

I also re-found this chap…one if my original Necromunda gangs… I much prefer this style to the more modern version…

I have decided to repaint him and see how I get on. As I was considering repainting him I foolishly decided to see if I could get him some friends….error not at those prices I won’t!

And finally…. the German base coated Fleet next to the British one…

Italian Wars Big Guns

This evening I putted guys together… I don’t need them all, but it gives some for me and some for Joe if he needs them.

So from left to right we have heavy, medium and light artillery. Each of the pair is slightly different to make them easier to spot mid game. I bet you cannot tell which light gun barrels pinged across the room never to be seen again!

At the rear are a couple of herds of cattle. All of these apart from the medium guns and gunners are dropped from 28mm.

The others are dropped from 10mm.

I also got the German Ironclads undercoated today. These are white, so no worries about some weird green base coat like the British.
