More Colours

I decided to do a few more, not quite sure why as I only have one standard bearer.😱

I have done some dragons too as they seem an undeady kind of charge for their regimental colours.

To be honest it is quite relaxing, more relaxing than painting figures. If you mess one of these up it can go in the bin and another page can be printed easily.

Teatime Colours

Updated Regimental colours …

I had another go at the colours tonight. Much happier with the bat, however I have realised that the chain around its neck has blended into the background colour of the circle….

I may just get rid of it to avoid the problem  – I didn’t have a very fine sharpie – to be honest I would have probably got a better result with silver paint instead of the pen.

the size works well with the colour bearer. I realised today that he is missing the top of his pole ( unlucky chap) so I  have added a bit of straw and will add a skull to the top.

Still got a lot to do to this chappie, not to mention the other seven.

Once the flag is glued on properly and shaped I don’t think it will look too bad for a first attempt.

Save The Colours

Regimental colours…

I had a mess around with some felt pens and sharpies today. The bat needs improving upon but the regimental colours will look something like this.

Bedtime Zombies

Some interesting colours here!

Instead of all of the zombies being the same colour I decided to go for some variation.

Hopefully when I put a wash on them they will blend together more.

I also got a bit more done on the ghouls.

Normandy… the refight

A big game today.

the armour arrives.

Basing Gunk

The perils of mixing by eye!

I needed to make some basing compound. A simple mix of sawdust, acrylic paint, PVA glue and a touch of water.

To begin with it was too dry, so I added some water, it was then too wet, so I added some more sawdust – too dry, more water…Eventually I got the consistency to something close to what I wanted.

I have located everything I could find to cover and I have used less than a quarter of the total made.

I decided not to add it to the ghouls as I wanted to get some more paint on them tonight.

Evening Gunners III

Another small step forwards.

I would have got more done but I decided to get a base coat on the ghouls, four base coats later I just about managed to get them green.

I think another couple of coats and they will be roughly the right colour. The joys of a Black undercoat. This is exactly the same green as the gunners.

The uniform is dark green with red turn backs, collars and cuffs. The colpack is black as are the belts and boots. As elites they have gold detailing.

Caroline wasn’t much fun

Well you know it is windy

when you cant get your door open to climb out.

Thankfully we got away with stuff thrown around the garden, roofing felt off the aviary and stable roof and a hole where the aviary wall used to be (thankfully we were using to house our hen and chick so nothing escaped.

Some others weren’t so lucky.
