Service Disruption XV

Still not 100% but I have been up mostof the day, Peak Flow is now up to 500, so the reaching is improving too.

I didn’t do much at all, today apart from fill the dishwasher a couple of times throughout throughout day. I managed to also make a starting glueing my mates miniatures together and onto their pennies, to match the previous ones…

I need to find some more pennies, but I do have a mountain of them somewhere, just where…

I also managed to get the resin beasties sprayed too… hopefully I can get some painting started tomorrow if I am up to it.

Things are definitely picking up. I managed to spend a day out of bed, back in there now, as I am a bit zonked, but that is the first day I have spent out of bed. Okay I sat on the sofa for most of it, but I did potter around the kitchen and got it sorted out a bit and managed to get the tea started too.

I also managed to get this lot glued down ready for a bit of an undercoat tomorrow…

They are just done with Copydex, so should come away from the bases easy enough when I need them to.

Hopefully tomorrow will follow today’s trajectory.

Woodlouse I managed 90 minutes up today doing things, the downside was that I needed to go and lie down again afterwards, but I managed it so that is good.

The down side with all this being in bed is boredom. I have watched YouTube nonstop now and have pretty much run through all of the back catalogue of the channels I subscribe to. I am now on the fringe areas of YouTube and am seeing if I have ASMR… the one channel that does totally chill me out is the Crafsman Show. Absolutely love that channel.

Today I ended up watching the Hornby channel… simply because he was making a Ffestiniog Railway based board. I worked there as a student for about 8 years, so was bit interested.

I am now, as I said, very bored of bed and tomorrow I am going to go for a day up on the sofa.

Service Disruption XII

Still in bed, but looking and feeling better. Unfortunately in one of my coughing bouts yesterday I pulled something in my side, now coughing hurts like buggery, but luckily I am coughing less over time.

My admin very kindly organised me a get well soon package filled with yummy things and cards from the staff and kids which was really nice, her hubby, my cleaner drove all the way overt his evenjng to drop it off.

This was one of my cards from one of the kids 😍

I reckon I am definitely heading in the right direction now and might soon venture into the lounge to sit in there rather than in bed. The codine certainly knocks me for six, so I spent some of today fast asleep.

Here is to a more up than down day tomorrow.

Much of the same today, but on a positive note, the cough seems to be easing. I actually managed a 5 hour straight sleep last night plus some dozing today.

I have to eat food before the steroids, so that is also forcing me to eat, which will no doubt help.

I am hoping that a corner has been turned and that I am on the correct road to recovery.

Service Disruption X

Well the doc has signed me off for the whole week, I was expecting them to do until Wednesday, but they were having none of it. I am on Steroids and Codine… one may make you drowsy  and the other wide awake… so Codine over night and Steroids when I wake up. I could do with more than three hours sleep to be honest.

Anyway the postman came today and brought me these…

They are sitting in a drawer until I can be bothered to read them. The other thing is that Ironclads is now on Kickstarter.

Ironclads: Space Battles in the Victorian Aether, via @Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tripleacegames/ironclads-space-battles-in-the-victorian-aether?ref=android_project_share

Now to be honest the amount to get it off the ground was only £500 and when I  opened the link above it was already up to £1628.

I went for the admiral pledge as it gave me everything including civilian ships and famous ones too. Well it is my Christmas present plus it is helping out my mate.

Service Disruption IX

Still in my pit coughing my guts up and throwing up occasionally during the day. Going to contact the doctor tomorrow in case he/she can think of something.

On the up side I did find a model patient…

Okay casualty is probably a better term to use.

My wife and son went shopping and were thinking of me they have brought me lots of nice things to try and ge tme to eat again. In my drawer right next to me is a chocolate bunny. Sadly right at this second it does not appeal.

Service Disruption VIII

In my attempt to be positive I would like to point out that I am positive that I coughed so much earlier that I threw up.

On the up side I also managed to sit up for for  about an hour and a half today, sadly, I had to return to bed, but at least I made it up. Work on Monday is looking less likely today. I am now needing my inhaler a few times a day, so will be following the doctor’s instruction and ringing them Monday morning.

Anyway my good lady recorded my sleeping last night to let me hear it… I am evidently a Weddell seal or something similar…

Not exactly from the same neck of the woods (actual opposite end of the planet to be more accurate). We had this little lady visiting Shetland over the last few days…

Based on the tusks and pink spot on the nose then she is the one seen in Germany and Northumberland.

She is about six miles from me and I can’t even get out of bed to go and take a photo.

Service Disruption VII

I am now very much bored and frustrated by this flu thing and to be brutally honest I am a total whining get. I am not a model patient and am spending far too much time feeling sorry for myself. There are people out there where this is their life. So although we may still have service Disruption tomorrow, then I shall be more positive….that’s tomorrow, but tonight I am going to make the most of it.

Last time I had flu it affected my taste buds and I went off coffee for about five years, in fact I just started drinking it again in the last six months. As I am still not eating I decided to make myself some cheese and Crackers…. Holy crap the cheese tasted terrible… I hope I don’t end up off cheese for five years. It might do my waistline the world of good if I was.

To be totally honest though I actually made it myself, had a bath etc and am just about upright… I am hoping a corner has been turned… yesterday I could just about stagger to the bathroom for a pee…

If the cough would go away then I would be a lot happier.
