Artillery Done

Well after a day of running adult and child protection training I was a bit pooped. I did want to get something done so I made some pretty guns and got everything done apart from the feathers (and the bases)!

I might have to take a little break from these as it has suddenly dawned on me that the show I am entering another skull into is on Wednesday… I basically have to get the whole thing done by Tuesday night…. Emmmmmm I haven’t even started! Trying for a smilodon skull this time.

The following was my foam deer skull from last year.

More Painting?

Yes indeed, look at me go…

Basically all that is left are the three guns at the back as well as the weapons and feathers.

Sorry John I forgot the silver paint again. I did bring gold though (I don’t know why either) I can only think I looked at the silver and picked up the ‘Glittering Loot’…

I have now added it to the box with the miniatures…no excuse tomorrow

Hopefully I will get these finished then move onto the Militia soon.

Mounted Troops

This evening I worked on the cavalry and the special characters…

Pretty much done apart from the  weapons and ostrich feathers. Still toying with red and white on the feathers. There are three feathers so I was thinking two red and one white.

I really should have done more, but am grumping that I am back to work tomorrow…in reality I forgot to bring the silver from the other room and can’t be arsed to go back through 😂.

Hurrah… Painting

Yes, I actually managed to do a bit of painting this evening…

I got most of the horses done, well the main body colour. I also got the firearms done. I did have a bloody long sleep into this afternoon. Woke up at 15:45 lol.

I hope to carry on tomorrow… I am determined to get these and the militia finished before I start on the Bolt Action stuff.

Shiny Hats, Shiny Hats of Metal

Yes I have had a little painting session this morning and got my armour all finished on this lot.

I would have got everyone’s boots and accoutrements done, but I really, really should sort out for going on the boat tonight.

Armour All Done

Apart from the cavalry commander and the helmets that is the last of the armour done this evening…

I actually tried the enchanted steel…

To be honest I am not seeing a huge difference…there is something there, but nothing stunning…Polished Silver might work better.

The command is going to be golden as befits his status.

On the boat tomorrow night so I might not get a huge amount done.

Armoured Bodies Begin

Well this evening I decided to get a wiggle on and start painting the armour.

I haven’t bothered with the helmets yet as part of me is thinking I will do them a different metallic colour. I am thinking of enchanted steel. It has more of a blue metallic sheen.

As the Venetian ambassador already has a couple of troops on his base then this will give me the opportunity to try something on a separate base… Clever or what!

So that is about half of them got the body armour done. More online training tomorrow so hopefully the rest will be finished to at least the same stage.

Pantaloons!

Everyone has now got their legs coloured as well as their coats done too *.

*We all know I am going to have missed both on at least some of the miniatures!

In a little while I shall get the flesh done… Or at least as much as I can get done before boredom, cramp or an Alien Invasion happens… More likely the dog will want attention than the latter but… You never know.

Guess who wanted my lunch!

Addendum17:00 GMT…

That’s the skin all done, with the usual caveat of…I am bound to have missed something. I had in fact missed a coat sleeve and when I went to find it then I reckon he hid behind someone else to avoid getting coloured.

The one thing about online training is it allows one to do productive things with your hands.

A Bit More Painting

Well look at me go…

That is the hose and pantaloons on this lot done…

Leaving five bases of cavalry and three guns of different types. The super light crew were done this evening as I didn’t want to waste paint lol.

I go off on the boat on Thursday night. So I basically have three evenings to get as much of these done before I disappear for a few days and come back with loads more projects…

Speaking of projects…

I evidently got a parcel yesterday, just everyone forgot to tell me!

I totally forgot I backed this on Kickstarter… Well technically not true, they, like a lot of things were caught up in Humpty Trumpty’s trade war, as well as his actual war. Well at least I got it, so can’t complain.

Bottom, Willy, Bum and Poo!

Well as you know I have made a start on the Florentine forces. In the back of my mind I thought I had got some of the new Militia.

I decided that I hadn’t bothered as they were pretty much the same as the mercenary troops, but with a leather jerkin and no feathers.

Evidently I was wrong… Whilst looking for my ‘Death of the Landsnekht’ book…(I spent so long looking for it that I forgot why I wanted it!).

But I digress… Whilst mooching through my crap I came across a box….

I swore!

I have just about got myself motivated to paint the originals. So I would seem to have a pike block of nine bases. Some form of command set and the rest are shot ( four bases of close, or two and three of skirmish/two close).

One of halberd and two of sword and buckler men.

So basically another sixty miniatures to paint. I am once again a bit disappointed by the quality control. Considering this is a brand new mold it’s a bit of a mess.

Some of the bases have holes in them and the vent on a lot of them will need a file taken to the bottom.

Somehow I was beginning to persuade myself that I really needed some Spanish, French or possibly a Papal army. I must be off my head.

Luckily Claymore is on the first so no doubt I will find lots of new shiny things to add to the pile of crap.
