Well that’s the final dwarf done…

Here is the full warband with the crossbow being the final one.
Not sure where to go next. More Mordheim or something different.
Snow is melting now, by by all accounts it might be back on Tuesday.

It was my intention to get the last dwarf painted this evening. I downloaded my new Goblins and sliced half a dozen fanatics. I also worked on the imaginary island of Skeldorini. This something my class and I are working on.
While things were downloading I decided to go on Ark…big mistake… four hours later it was nearly midnight!

The above are my Frog Army! Look out for them when the thaw comes.
This evening I got another couple of dwarves done. This takes the total to five out of the six starting miniatures.

This leaves only the crossbow to go. Luckily he is half way done…

Hopefully I will get him done tomorrow.
I managed to get a bit more done on my goblin general…or rather his mount.

Well Today was pretty crap. Our old Shetland had to be helped into the great pasture in the sky. He had got to 32. My wife has had him since he was six months old. I have known him for 25 years at least. Poor little chap was getting more doddering and in the end we think he had a stroke.
He was the last of her original driving ponies.
Hopefully I will get some painting done tomorrow. On the upside…I opened my school again today. Okay it snowed solidly for the first hour and a half. I was really beginning to think I had made a cock up. The sun eventually came out and the roads cleared again.
It was a rather nice view coming home…

So another Snow Day… getting a bit same old, same old. Snow still coming down intermittently.
This evening I finished these two…

That leaves three to go on the dwarves.
Well all schools were off today and I was on Child protection training all day. My daughter and I were going to do some more stuff on Ark, but sadly it needed a 7GB update so I painted while we watched ‘The Mitchell’s Versus the Machines’.
I would have got a lot further but my good lady forgot to turn the bath off. Water intake outpaced the overflow and to cut a long story short we have no dry towels. On the upside we have a concrete floor under the Lino and it is a single story house.
So back to the painting I eventually went. I managed to get this far…

Still a long way to go, but getting there, with these three anyway.
Snow is still here and the temperatures have dropped way below zero.

Huzzah, my day count came back. As of Yesterday I was on day seventy Five of daily posts.
You know that I am a bit of a daft lad when it comes to printing random crap. Today was no exception…

A goat with a set of Bagpipes, two ninja cats and two samurai turtles! It’s not as if I haven’t already got enough to paint.
Snow day today… still snowing off and on now… got some nice photos though…

Thank you to the people who answered the test post… you were so quick, by the time I had got around to checking and deleting you had answered 🙂
Anyway, the test was to see what was going on. my calendar says I have done at least 78 days in a row, WordPress says 8!
A bit miffed about that!
So this evening I eventually got my finger out and did a bit of wall building. Now if you remember last week I posted a picture of a weird-looking arch shape…

Well this is what they are used for….

you use the curved bit to accurately mark out the size of the window/door and cut these out. you then use a 3D-printed window/door to fill in the gap. The windows are a little trickier in that you have to cut the wall to meet the base of the window and then re-add it later.
Now I dropped a clanger with this test run. I grabbed some random pieces of 10mm blue foam and set to work drawing lines. obviously either it was off or I was off with a straight edge on the bottom. The set actually comes with a jig for drawing in the horizontal stone lines. I haven’t printed it yet. I am going to do it on the FDM printer to save a bit of cash.
All in all, I am quite pleased with the effect. It probably took five minutes from start to finish to get it looking like this.
WIndows and doors were one thing that I was always unhappy with. yes I can print whole buildings and I have, but I fancied a bit of scratch building again, to keep my hand in.
I will give these a proper go tomorrow and will show you the result.
Oh, and while I remember, I managed to fix both the boiler and the lights on the porch today. It turns out the boiler was overfilling as the ballcock had actually split below the waterline meaning it sat lower in the water. Thus it wasn’t shutting off the water until it went beyond the overflow. My wife was very impressed as there was no swearing at all, well apart from when I dropped the split pin and it bounced across the kitchen floor.
