Well That Bloody Hurt

I am sat here feeling sorry for myself, with my right shin swelling up, not to mention hurting. This evening we went out into the snow to do the horse. The track was full of drifts of about 45CM high. Went up to the car, drove, did the horse, went shopping carried the bags the 200m down the track. Went back up the track 5o get the bale of haylage and on the way back I mis judged where the end of the cattle grid was ….

Through I went belted my ankle, shin and knee on the way in. Twisted everything else on the way down.

Here is the hole that my good lady took a photo of (after checking I was okay first though).

We had a day yesterday when the snow was nearly gone and it came back with a vengeance last night. More expected this evening along with 60mph winds!

As someone posted earlier… this isn’t winter anymore this is harassment!

Another Dwarf

I was hunting for the box of Mordheim miniatures…which I couldn’t find. In my hunt I came across a dwarf I printed about a year and a half ago….

I think that The Mordheim box had taken it to work to paint things in Geek club.

I

Whoops,,, Where Did the Evening Go?

It was my intention to get the last dwarf painted this evening. I downloaded my new Goblins and sliced half a dozen fanatics. I also worked on the imaginary island of Skeldorini. This something my class and I are working on.

While things were downloading I decided to go on Ark…big mistake… four hours later it was nearly midnight!

The above are my Frog Army! Look out for them when the thaw comes.

Crap Day

Well Today was pretty crap. Our old Shetland had to be helped into the great pasture in the sky. He had got to 32. My wife has had him since he was six months old. I have known him for 25 years at least. Poor little chap was getting more doddering and in the end we think he had a stroke.

He was the last of her original driving ponies.

Hopefully I will get some painting done tomorrow. On the upside…I opened my school again today. Okay it snowed solidly for the first hour and a half. I was really beginning to think I had made a cock up. The sun eventually came out and the roads cleared again.

It was a rather nice view coming home…

More Stuff to Paint

You know that I am a bit of a daft lad when it comes to printing random crap. Today was no exception…

A goat with a set of Bagpipes, two ninja cats and two samurai turtles! It’s not as if I haven’t already got enough to paint.

Snow day today… still snowing off and on now… got some nice photos though…

Missing 70 Days

Thank you to the people who answered the test post… you were so quick, by the time I had got around to checking and deleting you had answered 🙂

Anyway, the test was to see what was going on. my calendar says I have done at least 78 days in a row, WordPress says 8!

A bit miffed about that!

Building Walls

So this evening I eventually got my finger out and did a bit of wall building. Now if you remember last week I posted a picture of a weird-looking arch shape…

Well this is what they are used for….

The bit below the window is just sat there and not glued on!

you use the curved bit to accurately mark out the size of the window/door and cut these out. you then use a 3D-printed window/door to fill in the gap. The windows are a little trickier in that you have to cut the wall to meet the base of the window and then re-add it later.

Now I dropped a clanger with this test run. I grabbed some random pieces of 10mm blue foam and set to work drawing lines. obviously either it was off or I was off with a straight edge on the bottom. The set actually comes with a jig for drawing in the horizontal stone lines. I haven’t printed it yet. I am going to do it on the FDM printer to save a bit of cash.

All in all, I am quite pleased with the effect. It probably took five minutes from start to finish to get it looking like this.

WIndows and doors were one thing that I was always unhappy with. yes I can print whole buildings and I have, but I fancied a bit of scratch building again, to keep my hand in.

I will give these a proper go tomorrow and will show you the result.

Oh, and while I remember, I managed to fix both the boiler and the lights on the porch today. It turns out the boiler was overfilling as the ballcock had actually split below the waterline meaning it sat lower in the water. Thus it wasn’t shutting off the water until it went beyond the overflow. My wife was very impressed as there was no swearing at all, well apart from when I dropped the split pin and it bounced across the kitchen floor.

Arrrrggghhhh

Or Words to that effect.

I moved the bin today and got a wet hand. My first thought was that someone had kicked the dogs water. That was fine. So I opened a cupboard door and noticed the floor in there was wet too. This cupboard is directly under the water boiler. The ballcock in the header tank isn’t shutting off the water early enough so it is hitting the overflow. The thermostat is acting up. So the water is getting very hot leading to some expansion of things. This has led to the leak.

Now to be fair it isn’t pissing out but has probably been going for a while.

I will see what I can do tomorrow.

This is the next set from Goonmaster…

Weird Things

This evening I got these weird things off the printer… I am somewhat exited to use them soon.

Tune in again soon to find out how and why.

The big one is missing as some pillock forgot to refill the resin vat part way through the printing.

I ended up on Ark again this evening and then had to be Dad’s taxi so no painting achieved.
