Miniatures and buildings…
So merrily completing the Italian Wars stuff it dawned on me I might need some terrain. Now I have got woods etc, so no problem there, but what about buildings…

Now this is one I made… Scale of the house fits the scale of miniature at a 1:1 ratio.
But when you get a force where one miniatures might be 10 or even 50 men. The house would then be massive by that premise.
So the question is what do you do. I know some people scale the buildings down to denote a larger settlement. I find that hurts my head.
Personally, I can’t get doing with scaling numbers up or down, maybe 1:600 scale figures or 1:35 figures, but the force has to be 1:1 otherwise I can’t get my head round it.
I have seen a couple of folks on wordpress who use 1:600 ush buildings to make towns and villages, for 1:300 figures. I have to say it seems to work, even to my eye.
But then if three buildings at a crossroads counts as a village, I reckon your 1:1 scale man:building works fine.
The house looks nice anyway!

Cheers, I do sometimes think that I overthink things. Maybe it’s why I like Skirmish games as much lol.

Fortunately my SEP field is working so I don’t need to worry about it! In fact I just use the same buildings and assume they represent a village or town i.e. if 1 model figure – 50 real people, then 1 model building = 50 real buildings! Maths at a level I can understand! 😉
