Well I made a start on the militia this evening.

I have got some paint on the undercoated miniatures.

The base on the right is missing a miniature so I decided to leave him out of the undercoated group. When the rest arrive I will get them based up and painted as one.

As you can see from the above I am going for a muted palette. Colour was still a thing for less well off people but I am wanting the militia to be totally different from the mercenary forces.
