  1. I have perhaps a dozen books that I have read multiple times, and are likely to read again… but “The Hobbit” would be the one I’ve read the most, probably just 1 or 2 times ahead of “The Lord of the Rings” itself.

  2. I am not a great one for re-reading books and have only read both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings once! I have, however, recently re-read Mortal Engines and its three sequels, mainly because a further two books have now been published set in the same time period but with different characters.

  3. The Hobbit is indeed excellent. My “keep going back to it” book is Feersum Endjinn by Iain M Banks; I could read the last page and immediately return to the start.
