Well my Wargames Illustrated magazine came and in it was a sprue of Gladiator goodies.
This sprue gave me a murmillo and a thraex. It also contained a Lanista and a Sumer Rudis (referee).
Now the miniatures are really nice, there are four head options for the gladiators. Two for each. And then four for the unarmoured chaps two with beards and two without.
Each fighter comes with two sword arms and two shields. There are two shields arms that allow for a bit of a pose difference. The shields have a hole to glue the hand in. Thankfully no arm straps.
The two fighters and referee have separate torso to legs so a bit of movement will be possible at the waist.
Now personally I would have preferred a bit more of a side on pose for either of them, but it isn’t a complaint.
If you started building without really looking at the magazine or know a bit about Gladiators then I suppose you might build things a bit on the wrong side. The Thraex has two Greaves and the murmillo has one on his forward leg. The Thraex also had a griffin on their helmet. One has the scutum and the other the Palma. One the gladius and the other the sica.

Now I have joined the Kickstarter on this so it is nice to see some of the miniatures.
From what I remember the six types are the two above, retiarius, hoplomachus, provocotor and the secutor.
These pretty much are the ones people know. I do wonder that if this is a success then other types might be in the pipeline. Of course my brain has now gone to the Gangs of Rome box set!
I will hopefully get these sprayed tomorrow.
