Hermit and the Goblins

This evening I got a few more Monster Hunter minis out of box and set to work. My original plan was to get the seven of them started, but instead I went for finishing four of them. These are, for want of a better term, a goblin command set of: mage, standard and commander. The other one finished was a human mountain hermit.

On the left are a couple of Kappa and on the right a demonic Samurai.

Now for fun I looked up the Kanji for Goblin… the flag should say goblin, but with my painting ability it might just say trombone, but the thought was there.

Tomorrow I will try and get the next three done, then I am onto a dozen or so skeleton Samurai.

Painting this evening was done with very painful index fingers on both hands. It looks like I have an infection under the nail on both of them. My left hand actually hurts to even gently touch it, well as it is swollen it is not surprising. I really think I should go and annoy the doctor sometime as this keeps on happening.

Sengoku Monsters Part II

Tonight I worked on a couple of Ono (one armoured) and half a dozen Spider Demon.

Still a lot to do, but they are getting there. When I was sorting out I came across some remnants of my Warmaster armies.

I have at least a couple of empire wagons in the bottom shed, but these are all that is left of my once mighty forces. To be fair I bought the dragon second hand.

Spanish Guerrillas

Tonight I decided to do a bit on the four guerrillas. It turns out I did more than I expected…

Once again I kept to a limited palette, this does seem to speed things up a bit. There is still a bit to do on them, bu I am definitely over the hump.

I Achieved Some Painting

Flipping heck… I actually managed to get some painting done this evening… I finished the cave and bushes…

I also managed to get my mates Flintloque miniatures done…

I got a good start on my miniature with the sword back left.

This is a super rare Fljntloque miniature, it is no longer available and hasn’t been for years. I spent a good while looking for her and eventually got her in a job lot. Of lTe I decided that she should either go to someone else or get painted. The Silver Bayonet allowed me to get her started as I have decided to go for a Spanish unit and she fits in fine.

I will get some more done on her tomorrow as well as get some of the Irregulars undercoated.

A Bit of Painting and a Story

Well this evening I managed to get a bit of painting done, I would have got more done but I was doing a bit of another blog post on the Shetland ‘Werewolf‘. http://outaboutinshetland.home.blog/2021/02/20/shetland-werewolves-and-fish/

So I managed to get a bit more done on the wizard and foot soldier…

I also started faffing about with the banshee and doing so more on the Trollkin.

Still a long way to go, but getting there…

Did I Actually Achieve Anything?

I spent this evening watching the Firth Element with the family and painting Valhallan’s and an Ork… the problem is I cannot really tell where I have been.

Actually I can tell where I have been with this guy…

As for the Valhallan’s, mainly rolled blankets and the like on them…

Today my son’s mate came around to ‘play’ in the snow. My boy decided he wanted a barbecue, so winter barbecues are now a thing in our household 😂.

It was really pleasant when the sun was out.

I forgot to say last night that the car started being an arse. It is still a bit lumpy today, looks like the injector is blocked again. Hopefully it won’t take long as the other one really isn’t designed for snow.

Korsucan’s Finished

After the angst of painting the Sisters of Battle these were an absolute pleasure to do. It might be that there were only four of them or maybe it was they were a bit chunkier or even that I needed a change, but whatever reason I really liked doing them.

They still need a couple of coats of varnish, but the painting is done. Because I had only a bit to do I also got some more done on the mounted squire as well as this lone werewolf…

I also had a jolly good look for another Chaos Knight to paint up, but sadly he was nowhere to be found, and in hindsight I actually think that he was already painted… in black armour, from what I remember. Anyway I had a rootle through the HeroQuest box to see what I could find and decided to have a go at these three. Sadly nowhere near the one painted years ago, but at least a similar style.

I will see what I can do with them when I get around to it 😂. I will get them undercoated tomorrow and then make a start on Wednesday.

I will get the Valhallan’s started tomorrow too. I will be using the brush on undercoat to get some of the undercoat back to white to allow for the Contrast paint.
