This evening I did some more slicing and started printing the remaining marines to make a squad of ten.
I also got the scouts underpainted…

Hopefully I will get them painted tomorrow. The little dudes in the foreground are for a big Tyranid base.

Well apart from the usual ‘still the bases to do’ comment😉.

I am calling these done even though I could do a lot more to them. I want them out of the way. I do however keep having to fight down the urge to get some close combat homagaunts and some flyers.
I will get the bases done tomorrow.
Oh and while I remember I hate some ‘effin’ plastic GW miniatures. I got my son the space marine scouts for Kill Team. Ye God’s they were an absolute sod to put together…why do they make them in so many bits,,,he managed three and I managed one as he was struggling with it…In my defence I was painting Tyranids and assisting my daughter with her revision for May’s exams.
Give me the old style any day. (It’s a bit ironic that I was just saying I might be after some more Tyranids)… thankfully if I do jump I will go after older ones.
My son and I have started watching the Fallout TV show… three episodes in and we are enjoying it.
Well by done I mean they have paint on them. Still teeth and muscle bits to do if I can be bothered.

I still have this lot to do though….

Time to bring out a larger brush.
Basically I have four days left to do the big beasties (on my self imposed deadline).
I am hoping that I can crack on tomorrow. Luckily I am not using a lot of colours (well done past me)!
Well that’s the hobby bit out the way…
As some of you may know, I am a principal of a small school. Sadly it has got too small and as such the council is deciding our fate on Monday. Thankfully the staff will be redeployed, but we are still losing the team as we will all be split up. This has been a major stress for the past few months. In the words of someone senior to me…”it’s Shit!”
So my deadline for Sunday night is there as I may not feel like carrying on on Monday.
Non whiny post will return tomorrow.
We went gallivanting on Sunday and had a close run in with an otter. Guess who didn’thave his big camera.
At one point we were about 20 metres from him/her.

I have some out and about videos that needs putting onto YouTube. Hopefully they will be done soon too.
Well I dragged myself off my bed to get some more done on the ‘Nids. Feet were on fire this afternoon… hence the bit of a stint on the bed with hhem raised up… made bugger all difference but hey ho!
I decided to get half of the termagaunts painted this evening and I managed it…

I am also pleased to note that the green/brown combo now outnumbers the black/white in my box…

My original plan was the the weapons would be the dark green shown here:

However, I remembered that each bio weapon is a distinct creature in its own right so I went for an orange colour instead. It works for what I want. I went for Speedpaint ‘Fire Giant Orange’ as the Dipping Ink version didn’t really work with a single coat.
Hopefully I will get the next ten termagaunts done tomorrow. I want this lot finished by time I go back to work. If no weird crap happens then I reckon it is do-able… queue weird crap music!
Well Mr Jagger said ‘Paint it Black so I did…

My youngest wanted to have a go at “slap chop’ so I sprayed everything black including my combined harvester.
I fully intended to do a lot more this evening, but can you guess which pillock forgot to take his meds!
I did manage a smidge of something else…

I thought the big ‘Nid bases needed something on them. I, therefore, built a casualty in 3D builder. I then used Greenstuff to make the wound (a wound sounds a little trite, for what has happened to this poor sod).
His back is flat to allow it to fit onto the base. I am hoping it will look more natural when it is embedded into the basing material.
This post comes with a sing along 🙂

Technically the above is a weaponised vehicle with saw blades on the front. I left them as is I have no idea what future crops will be grown. It is meant to have flamers on three hard points… I just left them off as this is intended for a terrain/cover piece
I also put together a pile of Printed Battle Brothers. Eight Scouts on the left and six marines on the other. Oh and the little Erroish Dude at the back gives an idea of the size of the vehicle.

So I had a go at reducing the big clanky bloke to fit in with 20 mm miniatures. So a drop of about 65% this is one of the beauties of 3D printing. My only concern with this is that it might have a void inside that has liquid resin in. Tomorrow I investigate. This was my proof of concept. The original had a number of drain holes, the scale reduction means they are now too small to be useful. The scale reduction might mean any void is now miniscule and the resin cured through the walls. To be honest it’s an easy fix. I electronically cut it in half to see what is inside and fill it or add my own larger drain holes.

I got the lighter walker finished too… not sure if I want the lid to be openable or not. It looks cool like this but then I have to paint the pilot.
Talking of painting… I also managed to dry brush this lot this evening…

I already hate them lol! Tomorrow I do a next layer of white. As these are going to be green I went for a green on the first dry brush.
Well, I have a printer and the file was half price…

Problem is… I am going to be facing this across the table… must be mad!
I have started printing stuff for my son. I have sort of persuaded him to let me print him some stuff and he can buy stuff too. He likes the Necrons and Space Marines so the poster boys are getting printed…

There is a scout on the left and a flamer on the right. The flamer Dude is missing his backpack thingy and I also shoved scout Paldrons on him too ( I will probably regret this).T
He more dynamic pose on the right makes him look a bit shorter… he isn’t really.
Oh yeah, these are two of the bases I printed :).
For anyone coming to see a Volkswagen… sorry!
I did some cyber snipping and reduced the original beetle down to a leg which I duly printed, along with some bomb rats… exactly as it sounds. Another nomad and a pack saddle too. A bodge job with super glue and Greenstuff and voilà a six legged beetle.

Here is the nomad and the bomb rats… oooh good name for a rock band there!

Not sure what I am going to do with the bomb rats, but I mean bomb rats… I just had to!
I also managed some painting…my son and I sat at the kitchen table and we both painted stuff.

A female space dwarf and another of the nomadic Erroish. She ended up yellow. In Fallout 76 you get to build yellow mining armour as one of the side missions… very original aren’t I. I cannot remember what colour the faction were going to be, but it certainly wasn’t yellow!
To be honest the Print Minis stuff has really kick started me painting again. Not sure why but the Spyre Hunters and the Erroish have got me going again.
