Painting Little Things….

Lots of little things:

For some reason I must have thought the beetle platform was about 6 inches square rather than the inch and a half that it probably is!

Still bucket loads to follow on this lot, but it is a start.

Slow Progress on the Beetle

Yes tonight I returned to my artistic endeavours. I was a good boy and picked up a paint brush instead of a controller. I basically painted the person at the front, snapped the seat back off as I found the person wouldn’t fit where the seat had been placed. I glued said person to the seat the glued the seat into the right position.

The platform is now glued in place. Everything on it is just shoved on. The unpainted dude is probably not going to be there permanently. The original has a central pole on the platform with a tin roof. It just looked wrong to me so I am either going to make a tent type idea, shove a tarpaulin over the goods or just leave it open. I haven’t decided yet.

Remember this rider on the stenobeast… I evidently hadn’t and basically put together another one. Somehow I gave managed to print ian identical mount, body, head, left and right arm. This is with multiples of each… weird or what…

Actually subconsciously I probably built what I had before without realising it as I liked the aesthetics or something like that… probably not as weird as I made out!

Working on the Beetle

Last night I got a dry brush of copper over the beetle. This evening I did a bit more work on the saddle and seat for the driver (?)  Perhaps mahout?

It is slowly coming together… I might have to sort out that front leg a bit. I can’t remember it looking that shiny though. Could be camera flare?

I had a go at the GW plastic orks at Geek Club (not sure what they are called now.. probably  GW-orks!)

I really do not like them. Not sure why, but definitely not for me. I only painted them as I had forgotten to take my stuff in!

Desert Haulage Firm

This evening I worked on the saddle for the pack beetle.

The decorations still need doing as well as a lot more goods. There is definitely a lot less white visible. Still a long way to go but I am getting there. I was thinking of going down a muted route for the saddle, but then I thought about camel saddles, so colourful it became.

The biggest issue I have is that the beetle has almost become invisible. Okay it wasn’t the best set up for the photo, but I am thinking of doing a gloss varnish on the living thing.

Hopefully I will get it finished soon…. Still got to come up with a base for it.

Not So Shiny Beetle

You know sometimes you have an idea, execute said idea and kaboom something amazing appears

There are other times when the kaboom is a pile of poop. Can you guess where this us going?

So yesterday I posted shiny beetle…

I decided to paint over the shinyness and went for a nice green… Sat looking at the green, then got out a pretty purple, sat looking at the purple then got out a red… did I choose any of those nice colours? Did I buggery! No, captain brain dead here went for this….

Okay it isn’t a total balls up, but it definitely isn’t what was in my head. It may grow on me, but sadly the nice shiny bits will be covered by the saddle! The one in the background is demonstrating what this one will eventually look like.

Shiny Beetle

Well after having a very brightly coloured gang of rich psychopaths I decided go go shiny on the pack beetle.

Okay to be honest thus is just an undercoat for Contrast over the top. I still have to decide on a colour but I do want an iridescent one… not sure why. Hey Picasso went all Surrealistic  so I reckon I can go all colourful 😂.

Regarding the brightly coloured psychopaths. I just felt they had to be colourful. I didn’t know why, it just felt right. Azazel hit the nil on the head. He said the poses looked like superheroes. Then the penny dropped. Question answered! I mentioned thus on ghe company Discord and funnily enough the team actually gave them the name of the Avengers.  It is good to know I wasn’t just being bonkers 😂.

Managed Some Painting

Well I made a start on a pair of the Erroish in Geek Club yesterday and managed to get them finished this evening. I also worked on the Spire big guy, and the other three for that matter

The big guy still needs the decoration done on his armour. I have decided to go for Gold as I feel this befits a super rich, nasty bully.

These are my pack beetles…

The saddles also had some failures, you can see an obvious one on the end of the front strap… Well actually it is a decorative border. But hey, either way it will get the Greenstuff  remedy.

Hopefully I will feel up to a bit more of the same tomorrow.

A Bit More Work

So this evening I worked on my Spyre Hunters.

The dude on the left as you may have noticed is not  futuristic hunter. He is a rat piper for my mate. He does have a tartan kilt, but to be honest I chose colours that were too dark so you cannot really see it.

I also added the big dude onto the newly printed base. I have also gone a bit daft and printed a couple of Desert gangers and some alien fauna. Well I didn’t just want to print a base on its own.

A Bit of Painting

Well I actually managed to get a tiny bit of painting done this evening.

I went for the unbased one to begin with.  He is going to have either red or yellow on the chest and knees.

The other two miniatures are for my youngest.  These two were the ones that failed yesterday. I did a plate re level and it worked fine second time around.
