Well it is that time of year that I force the kids to write to various companies asking for things for the club
Last year The Army Painter and GW helped out. GW have already sent me a box of things. I will try Army Painter again. They were super generous last year.
I am happy printing things but was considering asking some other companies for some plastic stuff.
My first thought was Wargames Atlantic. I think more fantasy/sci fi would be better. Does anyone have any other ideas. I will try Greenstuff World for paint again, but they weren’t interested last time.
Spent most of the day in bed today so no painting tonight.
Well today was the first of the official Geek Club MKII. I had twelve of the thirteen turn up. The other wasnt feeling too good. Pretty much everyone got their mushroom dude either finished or nearly finished. Some decided to add flock to their base and others took them home.
I believe they enjoyed themselves… we will see next week!
Because I am a pillock, I forgot to photograph their hard work. So here is the sun rising over the hills on the way to work…
Fifteen miniatures done for tomorrow’s Geek Club. We always start on the same one to help me show them what to do.
I do have another nine that got undercoated this evening. Unfortunately some of the bases hadn’t cured properly so I will blast them with the light tomorrow.
So this evening I got in at 21.30 because of a parents evening. I also needed fuel and needed to det the horse in. All in all, I really couldn’t be bothered to do much.
I did manage to get the last five miniatures off the printer for the new Geek Club.
Instead of an armed and dangerous teddy bear I went with a mushroom dude.
I just noticed it was blurry. He is one of a number from a new kickstarter I noticed and jumped on board to get some cool stuff for the club. I have thirteen signed up so far.
That about describes how I feel this evening… sadly no painting, building or even rule reading. I did however manage to 3D print some miniatures for the new Geek Club at the end of the week.
Not to be recommended… this evening I decided that I really needed to paint something. I managed to get so far before giving up as I was coughing my guts up throughout…
Hopefully the cough will have gone by tomorrow and I can carry on.
Well this evening I decided to hunt out my various Ancients rules.coukd I find them all? Could I like heck. Spent the whole evening hunting through the house.
I managed to find only a couple, so sadly no painting occurred. It didn’t help that I remembered Fallout 76… well it is research for the RPG…that’s my excuse and I am sticking to it.
Well my Victrix order arrived today and I got some of them built to see how they compare to the Warlord infantry and the Wargames Factory cavalry.
First up the infantry…
These would fit in well with the Warlord stuff. As it stands they probably be on their own as a pile of naked nutters bounding towards the Romans.
The cavalry are a different matter…
They won’t look too bad on the table, but I really doubt I will be able to match them in the same unit.
However, once again, these will be formed into their own units. The originals have no armour apart from the odd helmet, the Victrix ones are in mail. Therefore we have elites and more run of the mill types.
Either way these are a nice couple of sets.
The fanatics have four bodies and nine heads. Along with assorted weapon options.
The cavalry have three horse types, there are six halves but I haven’t tried to do different combinations. I would say not as the saddles are designed to fit a specific code.
These have four bodies and ten different head options. They come with seven crest options and a couple of cloaks.
Again lots of weapon options as well as three types of shield (well diameter of shield would be a better description). This is compared to the six the infantry have.
They go together well. Upon saying that, one body does have a right arm configuration which requires a certain selection of arms. Left hand weapons are also available as the musician shown has a gap for the right arm and a gap for the left hand.
The ones from yesterday have been undercoated. I am just waiting for the paint to cure.
