Painting the White

I decided I needed to get my backside onto gear even though I couldn’t be bothered. I am choosing random knights and painting the horse tack with the colour I had on the pallette.

I decided to pack in when I totally messed up the red bridle in the middle. For some reason the red just went everywhere. Eighteen more to go and lots of colours to choose from. These will be quite colourful (and shiny)

Painting with White (and a Druid)

Well after a bit of a hiatus, I eventually got down to going over all of the remaining horse tack with white…. very, very boring but I got them all done. Well I will probably notice a pile I missed when I add the photo!

Tomorrow I should be able to start adding colour.

Talking of colour I added more to the druid bust…

I am much happier with the autumnal leaves than the mixture I had below.

Still the cloak and hair colour to consider, but I will get there.

Oh and while I remember, I got a DNA kit for my birthday and the results came through. Basically I am 95.1% British with the rest French/German. Based on the  info I am from roughly the Humber to Glasgow.

I am definitely a ‘Sais Bach’ little Saxon’ as they say in Wales.

Oh yeah and I have more Neanderthal DNA than 42% of other people.

Nothing too exciting really…

Tidying Up

Well this evening  I set about painting in the bridles and trappings white. A totally tedious job, but it is what I get when I am messy. Forgot to take a photo, which is a first!

You can see the mess I made in the photo above.

Now to be honest I am going to have to be strong and resolute and get these finished as Wargames Atkantic are bringing out 10mm plastic Samurai/Ashigaru boxes…

Final Manes and Tails

Well my new job started yesterday and I needed to get some painting done this evening too. So I decided on the remaining horses. Not many but enough to get all the long flowing bits done on the plastic horses.

Next up will be repainting some of the bridles etc white. Well, on ones that are going to be brighter colours.

Manes and Tails

This evening I blasted through the dark manes and tails on the horses.

I still have the lighter ones to do, eight of the plastics. Then I need to make a start on the metal ones.

Aliens – Fireteam Elite

Well when I was South I picked up the game for £12. This evening I decided to give it a try. The premise was cool. Third person Alien shooter, various missions co-op or single player.

Frankly, I was disappointed. Now it definitely isn’t Alien Isolation, this one is more of a shooter and for me it got boring very quickly. I persevered and got a fair old way through the first mission, managing to fire around a  whopping 1500 rounds on the old pulse rifle. That in itself says it all… disclaimer… my accuracy wasn’t brilliant on the swarm levels!

I stopped using the pulse rifle and switched to my shotgun for those close encounters.

Basically the game is as follows:

The game contains four story campaigns with three missions each, and the player is accompanied by two allies who can be controlled by another player or by an AI. There are five levels of difficulty and twenty types of enemies, and weapon customization and character progression are present within the game.

The synthetic marines were quite interesting. Sadly there were some other synthetics in the game that reminded me of the Working Joe’s in Isolation. At least these ones fell over when shot.

I will play some more this weekend and see what I think. I basically got it for further ideas for my Aliens RPG.

Down a ‘Horse’ Rabbit Hole

Well this evening I decided to see what horses I had knocking about either online or on hard drives. This quick little job took longer than expected. I do think I will have something to make up another six heavy knights though.

On a totally different note, this is the view inside my new school…

I decided to pop in when it was empty.

Fifty Shades of Horse

Well OK… Twenty four  shades of Horse.

So that is all of the Horse skin done, still the hooves and manes/tails to go. For some reason one of them has gone a bit blue. I will put a grey wash over it tomorrow and see if that  helps.

The command section still needs to be undercoated.

I had a cunning plan yesterday, I still have enough knight parts for six more heavies. They just need horses. I can get six mounts as separate sprues from Perry Miniatures, but as I supported Wargames Atlantic think there are some suitable horses I could print….Time to head to the Computer!
