Getting Silly

This Lurgey is crap and it can just sod right off. I am absolutely fine unless I try and do something foolish like walk the 6 metres from the bedroom to the kitchen.

You will be pleased to know that I actually managed to get something done today. Yes I magnetised the guns on the Ironclads, okay I had to go and have a lie down afterwards, but I didn’t want you all to think that I was sitting on my arseall day, okay, to be fair that’s a pretty accurate description of my day…

I stuck them upright in the pots to prove they were magnetised.

To make sure he polarity was correct. I glued one into a gun then put another one on top of it. I then put superglue in the hole on the deck and then placed the gun in position. This was then slid sideways to leave the magnet in situ. I had a few false starts but got there in the end.

Feeling Bleurgh…an Update

Still feeling crap, and wasn’t in work today. I won’t be there tomorrow either. I spent most of the day sat on the sofa under a blanket, but did manage to get some more bits sliced for Ironclads.

My magnets also came to allow for guns to be changed etc on the vessels.

This evening I have been mainly watching YouTube…right now I am onto Bob Ross….https://youtu.be/mT0RNrTDHkI

When I worked as an outdoor centre coach we would have the TV on in the common room. Sadly for the boss, his morning briefing would co-incide with the Joy of Painting. Poor chap never stood a chance.

Feeling Bleurgh

The weather today was chappy and furthermore I have spent most if the day feeling cold and headachey. I blame my good lady for giving me the bleurgh. She has spent the last three days in and out of bed. I did manage to undercoat the guns and will hopefully get them started sometime soon…

I also re-found this chap…one if my original Necromunda gangs… I much prefer this style to the more modern version…

I have decided to repaint him and see how I get on. As I was considering repainting him I foolishly decided to see if I could get him some friends….error not at those prices I won’t!

And finally…. the German base coated Fleet next to the British one…

Italian Wars Big Guns

This evening I putted guys together… I don’t need them all, but it gives some for me and some for Joe if he needs them.

So from left to right we have heavy, medium and light artillery. Each of the pair is slightly different to make them easier to spot mid game. I bet you cannot tell which light gun barrels pinged across the room never to be seen again!

At the rear are a couple of herds of cattle. All of these apart from the medium guns and gunners are dropped from 28mm.

The others are dropped from 10mm.

I also got the German Ironclads undercoated today. These are white, so no worries about some weird green base coat like the British.

A slow Evening

I am beginning to think that this Italian Wars stuff will take forever. I was working on the skirmishers and the laptop ran out of battery… so no flexible skirmishers this evening. I decided to just do them in their fours, but to make them with the flexible mix to give them a bit more strength.

This evening was a familygames evening so jot much happened on the painting front. I did manage to get the British vessels undercoated and base coated…

I got a spray can in town that looked the perfect colour…sadly it lied. Luckily I found a Dark Angels green from Army Painter that got the them to a more useable colour.

I must have dropped the Gunboat about three times whilst trying to spray it.

Ineffectual Evening

My tooth is better, but somehow I buggered my wrist… so no painting this evening. So instead I decided to make some 6mm skirmish units for the Imperial Army. After about an hour faffing about I packed in as I was getting absolutely nowhere.

My plan was to do a multi miniature irregular strip with four to half a dozen arqubusiers on it. Two of these would make a base worth.

It didn’t help that I was tired… I will retry making an irregular base in Meshmixer and then adding in the miniatures.

Two more Bases Done…

Tonight I managedto get the two bases finished. I used any spares to replace some of the earlier casualties…

I will get the artillery undercoated tomorrow and see about getting as much done this weekend as I can.

I also cured the ironclad bases…

Here they areall perched on the bases. I will, cure the other two tomorrow and get these undercoated with the 6mm stuff.

Regarding the toothache, imanated to getan emergency appointment. I am pleased to say that they let me keep it. Most people who have gone to the dentist lately have had their teeth whipped out. My gob does fell like I have been slapped a few times, but at least I can speak without whimpering now. Evidently my u finished root canal work had decided to give up the ghost and create a bit of excitement…

Kaiserliche Äthermarine Vessels

Tonight I got these off the print bed… again two of the smaller vessels, but this time on the German side…

Destroyer left and Gunboat right. The destroyer has a torpedo rack aft.

The stands are being printed just now, so hopefully by tomorrow I will be able to show you them in their entirety. These take 2x1mm neodymium magnets to attach the weaponry, typically mine are all 3x1mm. I should have some with me soon, along with another bottle of resin.

These do need support and I sat them at an angle with the stern nearest the bed… you can play around with the angle, the British were done at 45 degrees and the German at about 40.

This was from the British print. I had forgotten to change the support settings, so I had 78% coverage and also heavy supports… not sure why…

I will check on the stands inba minute and get the next pair printing before bed.

Sadly no pikes tonight as I have a stinking tooth ache again. The pain killers eventually dulled it to a constant nagging discomfort. I will attempt to get to a dentist sometime soon.

Pikes and Gunboats

I didn’t eat until about 20.00 this evening, so this had a knock on effect. Sadly I never got the German vessels printed, but they are on their way now. They are totally different to the British vessels in the aesthetics.

I also managed to do a long overdue job, which was to clean the ISO. It had settled nicely so I poured off the cleaner stuff then ran the rest through a funnel and filter.

I did however, manage to get some work done on the pikes…
