Well, I was watching YouTube last night, I must have dozed off (getting old lol). So I woke up and noticed a video pledging that you would be able to paint your Warhammer miniatures without skill. Made me think, it is actually possible… it is called dunking said miniatures in a pot of paint.  Otherwise skill is involved. I was too tired to watch it and now I cannot seem to find the video now. Too tired again.

So the other day I was up to something like 19 days straight. I post today and I am now down to 3.

It has today, yesterday, 2 days, 3, 4,5,6,7 and then dates from then on!

So in yesterday’s post (basically 2 hours ago) I was waffling on about how I may have kept the wrong Speedpaints ie gave away the 2.0 and kept the 1.0. I now don’t think I fiddle, but a red paint kept reactivating. On the scouts I used a red and decided to take a photo of the paint bottles I used (primarily in case I forgot). Lo and behold these are the paints I used…

Now the question is, did I use these for the original miniature or not… secondary consideration is the white paint I used… it was a pretty gunky white that I used a pile of medium in to make it more liquid… looks like it need to do some testing.

So what have I been up to in my hiatus… sod all really. Well okay, I have discovered Fallout 76, as well as rebuilding in Fallout 4.

To be honest being knackered all the time hasn’t helped. I ended up back in the doctor’s yesterday because of it. So more blood tests are taking place next Tuesday, and a chest x-Ray sometime soon. Everyone is flummoxed as to what is wrong with me, including me. It could be a extension of the poly myalgia. The doctor is basically ruling out everything else. Thankfully we have the NHS, otherwise I would be skint.

So the bit of a bugger on the horizon is that the school will be closed in June and all of my staff and I will be redeployed elsewhere. Sadly, not together. Technically we are being mothballed, but….!

Funnily enough the doctor did wonder if there is a bit of a correlation between school closure and my poor health.

The fire festival was a bit windy and wet last night. I did take a video, but the wind caused me problems with the sound.

Well we have officially had gales for nine days straight. The average for January is seven days of gales, however they are not normally together at the start. To be fair in 1993 there were 19 days of Gales.

On the 5th January the MV Braer ran aground off Sumburgh and released 87,000 tonnes of crude oil. She was carrying twice the amount as the Exon Valdes. Therefore people feared the worst. By some stroke of luck. The storm that added to the accident also saved us. By all account’s the motion of the waves and wind emulsified the oil.

We did get oiled beaches, but not what was expected.

Friends who lived up here smelled the oil on the wind 50 odd miles away. They were out checking theirs and their neighbours fuel supplies as they thought they had developed a leak.

I remember watching things unfold on the evening news.

To be honest this morning was a bit like ‘wind… what wind?’ Yesterday I could hardly stand and today I couldn’t have flown a kite. My good lady took this photo when she was out with the dog.

We got off easy.

Power kept on, but the other side of the hill was off. Funnily enough anywhere that had their power poles replaced due to being destroyed last winter were fine this time.

To our knowledge the worst that happened to our place was that the bin lid fell off and we lost a strip of felt off the pony shed.

My colleague lost their hen house and pigsty roof, oh and this was the Shetland hotel!

The road on the other side was closed for ages as the fire brigade had to assess the building to ensure it wasn’t going to fall down.

From what I remember strongest gust was 89 mph yesterday.
