Goblins and the Nuns

Tonight I got the pole armed goblins from out of their box. I then spent an absolute age trying to find some missing ones.

I eventually decided that I didn’t have them and made do with some spares from the other sets.

In the box were my Mordheim Sisters. I never liked how these were painted so they have been white washed too.

I will hopefully make a start on them tomorrow.

There are two units of twelve in the background. I think I have four foot units (including the unpainted one). They are spread all of the place.

Goblins Done

When I say done, I mean the seven that I had undercoated.

Here they are robbing out the stones from the wall.

I also got the frogs done too.

For these photos I decided to try out my background book…

I also used one of my battle mats. To go onto the table.. I am pleased with how it looks for both photos.

I will probably do the dozen goblins with spears next. Well I need them done as soon as possible as Highland Miniatures are bringing out orks next month. I am liking what I see so far.

Undead Knights Finished

Well this afternoon I finished the knights. I decided on the maroon/purple for the white bits. I wanted to add a brighter colour to give them a bit more oomph. I had originally thought to go with red, but I reckon I chose the correct colour. you can see the one I was thinking of to the left of the second photo.

Tonight I am off to the club to get trounced, I mean play another game of Grimdark Future.

Skeletal Cavalry

Tonight I sat myself down and got to work on the skeletal knights. I fully didn’t intend to do a great deal. I stuck Men in Black on Netflix as some background noise and away I went,..

I got this far. Bridles, pennants, the standard and the leader’s scabbard to do. A bit of work on the base and they will be pretty much done.

Major Storm warning for tomorrow. Probably the reason for all the helicopters flying around with telegraph poles over the last week.

Skeletal Cavalry

Tonight I did a smidge of painting…

I probably would have got a lot more done, but my eldest and I bought Baldur’s Gate 3.

The red one among them is for the vampire.

Archers All Done.

Tonight I decided to get these finished. It was really just the iron boots on them all and a blast around to try and hit any white spots.

I also sprayed the skeletons and rock chuckers. I think I will do the skellies first. I may have to support the horses to avoid the flexible resin droop.

Actually thinking about it, I have a couple of space frogs that I undercoated. So I might as well do these alongside the skeletons.

Getting There With the Goblins

Tonight I did some work on the archers.

I would say, I am getting there.

Tonight I had to bottle some white paint…

Shoving a white tissue in as support wasn’t clever.

Yes the lid on my Skull white eventually gave up the ghost so an intervention was required. Well it was that or bin it. As the caption above says… I didn’t spill it. In fact I lost none.

Working on the Goblins

Tonight I decided that enough was enough and forced myself to sit down and paint. I got this far with the archers…

I quite like the blue/grey of the hoods. Still a long way to go, but progress is still progress.

I also found the missing skeletal horseman… he was hiding with more goblins.

There are half a dozen rock chuckers and a poor goblin trying to pacify a giant frog. The ones with the rocks are basically the swamp goblin equivalent to the Night Goblin fanatics.

I have noticed of late that the steroids aren’t seeming to be stopping the pain from the poly myalgia. The doctor is bumping me back up a mg to 9mg to see if that helps. Fingers crossed. Luckily I am now on my October break… Wooohooo 🥳.

Goblins Finished and Started

This evening I managed to get the Goblins I have been painting finished, well I though I had until I saw the photo and noticed more white than an explosion in a Tippex factory.

I also used any spare paint on a frog rider and a shaman/leader and then I had a bit of a sneeze whist pouring out a drop of flesh coloured paint for the frog’s mouth… then this happened…

The bottom eight were in a box that was going to use for a One Ring game. In my mind these are the worst goblins ever…I mean what happened in the sixty years from these ones to the ones in the Lord of the Rings… I know they grow fungus in the Misty Mountains, but was some of it penicillin… never mind I digress.

Tomorrow I will get back on with the Highland Miniatures bow armed goblins.
