Painting Twins and Triplets

Well if Geek Club has one personal thing going for me, apart from the warm fuzzy feeling, then it forces me to sit down and paint for about forty minutes.

Today I managed three miniatures. Two adult males and another child.

I still need to get the bases done as well as sort out the belt buckles on the three males.

So the two males on the right and the girl in blue join the rest.

I really do enjoy painting a nice simple miniature!

Barkhoven – The Great Composer

Even though I am spending far too much time playing Fallout 76; I still managed to paint this pair this evening.

The collar was done with thr same light blue and it does make Barkhoven look like he has blue ears.

I cannot remember what the other one us, one of the civilian range from Alternative Armies, but as to the race… not a clue.

Ghost Bride

Yes eventually I got my finger out and picked up a paint brush and got the ghost bride up to the basing stage.

I think the ideas in my head transferred to the miniature. In fact I think it is an improvement on my own original one. For one thing I was a bit more adventurous in adding other colours. The red eyes are not evil in my mind… just the poor lass has been stood up at the alter and cried a great deal.

I painted this one in 2018

Funny I went green with my original and blue with the latest one.

I Achieved Painting

Not the most grammatically accurate title ever, but flipping heck I got some paint on a miniature…

A down and dirty 25 minute (if that) paint job. Geek Club started again today and as our cupboard was a total mess I tidied that before starting my painting. Will it win any prizes, nope, but a finished miniature is a finished miniature.

Adding Snow

You would imagine that after a week of the white stuff then I might have got a bit sick of it… out in the wild – yes! In the kitchen on miniature bases… not so much, but as I really dislike doing bases then … I might have to sit on the fence

So I forgot to take the photo at 15.00 today to compare the snow… this was taken up my track though!

Making Leaves

Tonight was the first of the fire festivals, so I iwas off gallivanting for a bit. I decided to do something useful when I came back. As I had found my leaf punch yesterday I decided on leaves!

I basically used a brown paper envelope  and threw loads of dipping inks on it in random patterns.

The other side has more yellow and orange and less green.

I tried the punch out when the paint dried and if I say so myself  they look rather good. Yeah I know I am meant to use real leaves, but it has been raining a lot, it was pitch black and the wind was up.

I will show examples tomorrow.

Almost Finished

Yes, the Flintloque miniatures are nearly done. I worked on them this evening again. Painted the base, did the rims, took the photo and then realised I had forgotten all the brass work on the rifle and pistols!

I will try and get it done during the day tomorrow.

I have a hospital appointment with a specialist on Thursday so it is a ferry trip down to Aberdeen tomorrow evening. I could have taken a flight, but this way it is cheaper for the old NHS… oh yeah and it means I get some time in Aberdeen.

I am going to see if I can find any model shops… not holding my breath as I haven’t been able to in the past.

Starting 2024 With…

Some painting! Yes indeed first day of new year and I painted. Okay totally forgot today was 1st January… so while I remember… I want to wish everyone health, wealth and happiness for the years ahead.

Here are the fruits of my labour so to speak…

I hadn’t really made many hobby plans for 2023, well apart from getting stuff painted and built. The one thing I did decide on was to give up printing for a bit, this is one thing I pretty much kept to. My new resin printer is still in the box and the only reason the FDM one was opened was to print my son a replica pipe pistol from Fallout.

So do I have any actual plans… not really. Try and people more should be a major one… hopefully that will come about.

A Bit More Done

This evening I managed to get some work done on the Flintloque miniatures. Basically from left to right is unfinished towards a more finished state.

Spot the odd one out!

As tomorrow is Christmas Eve it is unlikely that I will get any more done, but I may get lucky.

A Bit More Painting…

This evening I decided to try and get some painting done on the 28mm Flintloque miniatures. I got a bit further than I thought I would… a couple are close to finished…

I will try and get a bit more done tomorrow evening.

Yesterday we had gales, today we had snow and for some reason strong winds about half four. My daughter and I were trying to grit the hill out the valley and we had to fight the shovel constantly as the wind was taking it.

Luckily we had a mattock in the back of the car (like you do!) because the grit piles were frozen solid… oh yeah the only shovel I could find to put in the car was a plastic snow shovel!

So with the wind and snow the kids broke up early for Christmas! I managed to stay home too, which was a huge relief yesterday!
