Another Six Finished

Well today I have managed to get the penultimate half dozen finished.

I am actually quite pleased that I don’t actually have six left. In fact I have five… if you remember I did an extra miniature when I did the mounted bowmen…

The French knights trying out the English banner for size!

So here we have the remaining five… ready to go  – so to speak…

I forgot to take my steroids today so am feeling a little wobbly right now. If I feel a bit less ropey later on then I will try and crack on with them.

Another Six

I spent some time this evening working on another half dozen knights.

I did consider getting them completely finished, but got to the point of instant avoidance. This was rather foolish as pretty much it was down to the broze stirrups and bits at the mouth.

But they should be finished in about 20 minutes. Some white on the legs and faces of the horses will add to the effect.

On the downside I didn’t get them finished, on the upside I got them nearly finished 😉.

Another Six Done

Well this evening was another try and chill one so I went for more painting of the knights.

I got this six to the touch up stage. This leaves a dozen. Half of them are on armoured horses.

Tomorrow I will try and progress another six. Not sure what to paint after these. I will have to sort out bases so they can fit into the movement trays. What I need to do is measure the originals and get in some MDF ones. Technically I could 3D print some, but really cannot be bothered.

French Knights

So this evening in a bid to try and reduce my stress levels I decided to have a bash at the French knights.

Stress levels didn’t come down much but I did get some miniatures a bit further forward. I also finished my English standard and and got it stuck onto the banner pole.  After the photo was taken I got the paper closer into the pole while the glue was still wet.

Hoping I will get more done tomorrow.

All Done

Well I nearly got these finished. The painting is pretty much over. I have spotted some bits I missed so they need a touch up. I took about half an hour trying to paint a swallow tailed banner for the English bowmen. I gave up on that then went for my paint pens which were crap. I totally lost heart and gave up. I will either get some banners or use my nice coloured pencils.

I might make some on the computer and then colour those. A bit like the Flintloque ones from ages ago…

I have also been slowly working on the druid…

Commanders…

Getting there. Yes I managed a bit more painting this evening. I did have a parent meeting until 9.00 but felt the need to paint…

They are definitely closer to finished now. Another evening and they will be done.

I was going to do Jean with reddish hair. Not sure where that came from as I cannot now find any mention of it. As I had the black out I just went with it.

I am not too impressed by the metal miniatures compared with the plastic ones. I mean if you look at her face then it is closer to Quasimodo than the Maid of Orleans. But hey, I bought them so that is on me!

Regarding miniatures I have some very exciting news. My son is super happy… I mean jumping around happy. I will share more tomorrow. This evening I am just to tired, he is asleep and to show you I would probably wake him up.

More Painting

Well I got some more paint slapped on the metal commanders this evening…

Not particularly happy with the black and white. I was using ancient white paint, and to be honest it needs binning. It has had so much medium in it it has started to reactivate the paint underneath. The blaze and stockings on the horses are in fact pure white… as is the bridle on the left!

As it was so crap I opened up a brand new Corax White. I mixed it for bloody ages then dropped the sodding pot…sadly this happened!

This is seriously a newly opened pot that I stirred for about 5 minutes. I did think that after I dropped it then an air pocket or perhaps forcefield had stopped the paint escaping.

I mean I really should have guessed that it was crap when I saw the solid lump of paint inside.

Adding More Colours

So Jean, La Hire and the Bastard of Orleans had some paint splashed on.

So La Hire and the Bastard have their surcoats visible. La Hire is black with white grapes and his comrade is the blue with yellow fleur des lilles with a white bar…. see I did find out 🙂.

The metal was a bit bumpy so I went  for pretty much covering the lot and I will go over the raised details with white when the base colours are dry.

Joan and a Trick Cup

Well after languishing in the doldrums for a while I decided to attempt some painting this evening. Not a huge amount, but at least something. I am finding I don’t have the energy or head space when I get back home so I have been on the console faffing about on Ark, and I mean faffing. I had so many plans to do or make things but really cannot be bothered.

So here are the metal trio.

Jean D’Arc will be in her white armour with blue trappings on the horse. I will have to find out the heraldic colours onbthe other two. I will rephrase that… I want to find out the heraldic colours. To be honest I could have painted them green  (seems to be the random colour of choice with the plastics).

As for my trick cup… one of my kids put it in the microwave….

Might just keep it for guests I don’t like 😉.

I will see if I manage any painting tomorrow.
