Well we got the diorama finished and I got it delivered after school today. Here it is in all its glory.
The only bits of it I actually did on it were minor. Firstly I covered the whole base in watered down PVA after the kids left and second was using the rattle cans to spray things black and to seal the flock onto the trees.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?
I suppose there are two that fit this criteria. The first was a piece of Roman amphora from 20 metres down in the Mediterranean. It was from a second century wreck. I may have been the next person to touch it in the 1800 years since it was lost.
The second thing was another piece of pottery this time Samian from the Roman period. This one is cooler than the first as I know the person who touched it before me was from the first to second century AD. How do I know this. Well a little rabbit had made a burrow and kindly kicked it out just before I came along.
Luckily for me both were outside of any protected area so they were both classed as waste.
If I knew where they were I would add a photograph of them.
Bill the pony made an appearance to balance the scene up a bit. I am toying with the idea to add water slide transfers to the knight as well as the shields on the various foot soldiers.
I made a start on another pair of mounted knights as well as more foot.
The school has built a little diorama for a local festival of trees. Here is a work in progress…
I will get photos of the finished diorama tomorrow… well it better be finished tomorrow as I need to get it to the organisers tomorrow afternoon.
Yes that time has come when both the physical and cyber miniatures need sorting out. I decided to make a start when I kept finding boxes with part painted miniatures in.
This evening I wanted a quick win so redid this lady.
She basically is the same original colours for the tunic and breeches. I just redid them better then got the rest of her done.
I will get some flock on the base when I get a lot more miniatures done. I could have looked up what actual regiment she is from in the Flintloque world, but didn’t for two reasons. One, it is for my mate, who wasn’t that fussed and two,it is a fantasy world – I wasn’t too fussed either.
It was a nice easy miniature to paint the biggest fuss were the suspenders and even they weren’t that fussy as they are quite chunky and easy to do.
Apart from the base this was all done in Speedpaints 2.0. Oh yeah, while I remember The white bits were my rebottled GW paint from a good while ago…
Well, this night off was more forced than volunteered. I noticed there were lots of blooping noises coming out of the kitchen sink and the toilet. This normally means that the septic tank has backed up. Oh yes, it had! So after a whole lot of swearing, I set to work.
An hour and a half later I got it cleared and running through. There was even more swearing when my phone dropped out of my pocket and fell into said Poo-filled hole. luckily it was in a relatively clear bit and I also had a hose and spade in hand so I got to it before it sank.
I managed to stay up until 20.00 and got this written ASAP before I fell asleep.
