I Might Have a Problem

Well if you have been following my blog for a while then you will know I do like my 3D printer and therein lies the problem.

The other night I was doing a test print of something at 75%. One thing on the build plate, one teeny tiny thing. Seemed a waste to turn it on for just one thing… so I spent the next hour deciding on what to add to the plate…

I actually have zero need for a pair of ogres with big guns! Ooh actually I have just thought of a potential use… proxy Super Mutants for my Fallout RPG if it ever gets off the ground.

On the left there is a cult psyker for some Alien infestation type force  and on the right is a cyborg bounty hunter.

To be honest it is just too easy to find the file and print it. I reckon I am going to have to go back to the paint what I have approach.

I also printed off a band for each of the Geek Club…

They are a bit smaller than what they are used to, but we can see how they cope.

Eventually hit Send

So today I made the decision on which school I will become the head teacher (principal) of.

I sent my email along with what I thought about the process. The image above pretty much portrays the gist of my message.

Very Little Done

The title says it all really. Today I had to visit my potential replacement schools. It was really stressful. Everyone knew why I was there which really didn’t help.

So I threw a bit of paint on some of the industrial pallet miniatures. My phone was charging so no photos.

Exciting News…

After this bit…so I had a blast at getting a bit of painting done. I chose these to make a start on.

It was actually a bit of a struggle to get motivated. I need to get the Sumo ring painted by Wednesday for my mates birthday.

On a totally different and very exciting note… we have a new family member… Meet Maggie.

She arrived this morning. Esther and one of the kids went down to Aberdeen to pick her up from the SSPCA. Poor little soul was found near a large body of water with a lot of scars and a broken tail. The rescue centre’s hypothesis was that someone tried to chuck her in by her tail. She is about 5 months old.

Out with the Greenstuff

This evening I set about filling the gaps in the Sumo Ring.

While doing so I realised it was much bigger than the small ruined house I made. With the help of the miniatures I realised that although a bit bigger it wasn’t super massive. I did it with a 60% reduction. Problem is o cannot remember by what amount reduced the house by. I really, really should write this stuff down, or at least put it in the same place!

Motorbikes

So I decided to print a couple of the motorbikes  from Pront Minis. These once again are going to be abandoned…

Under the wheels are some Nissan huts and gun emplacements for Jon’s game. At the top is a power maul from some ‘sort of’ Arbite’s.

Suitable Colours (sort of)

This evening I fought with the PC to download some more miniatures for the Geek Club. I eventually got some stuff sliced and printed, but too late to take them in tomorrow.

I couldn’t find any of my Vallejo Air that had WW2 German armour colours among the ranks so I did the next best thing… Contrast fir the tracks, Xpress colour for the German and Speedpaint for the British.

Not perfect, but they will do …apologies to any purists out there.

So tomorrow I find out where is available for me to move onto… for those that have been following for a while, they decided to go with HQ and my little school is to shut and my most amazing team are being redeployed, as am I for that matter. None of us want to go, but have no choice. As an officer of the council I have to be careful what I say, but it is an absolute crying shame (feel free to add in any expletives you see fit).

Undercoat R Us

Well this evening I went a bit wild and undercoated whatever I could find black. This was mainly terrain.

I also did more printing, this time it is a Sumo ring in 15mm for my mates birthday next week.  I already printed and cured the street fish ponds. An image can be found Here

Wolf Den

One of the kids at the Geek Club really likes wolves so I have printed her three new ones at 150%.

On Friday in Geek Club we made the start on a cave for them.

I spent more time on the foam than  finishing my lizardman. We still have to get some foil work on the rock and base area. It is still a bit boxy, but will sort that next week.

Chemical Plant II

This evening I sorted out the new chemical tank. This one is a little more complex than the other one. It has screens and buttons etc, but it is still going to work well.

I have sprayed it black ready for the white dry brush tomorrow.

I am printing a second one right now. My plan is to have at lest two joined by a walkway. Three would be better but I am not sure if I can be bothered to paint three.
