Cheap Undercoat Paint
I had to pop into the car place and decided to give this stuff a blast. £6.00 is a lot cheaper than the £11.00 for the GW one. I stuck it in warm water and gave it a bloody good shake. I am happy with the coverage. We will see how it takes paint once dry.
Update 19.00 hrs
I tried to rub off the paint on the flanks of the horse and it wouldn’t budge.
Update….
I have done a base coat on these and the undercoat has worked fine, takes the different colours from the different paint manufacturers without a problem. The one thing I would say is that the undercoat is a little grainy, but at this scale I can’t see a problem.
KR Multi Case Storage
Well my storage and carrying conundrum has been answered. I ordered these on Ebay second hand. One has a pluck and store bit the other has a couple of trays with bits cut out. All in all happy with what I got. £35 all in.
I will see how much stuff I can get in these with the standard trays around 200 figures plus the pluck and store and the cut out bits so probably will do all of my Flintloque and all of my Lion/dragon rampant stuff too.
All in all a happy bunny.
HEVC and the Fairies
A lost cause….
Random Musings
Having got a couple of awesome bargains off eBay recently I thought I would share my two pennothworth.
The stuff I got was a bargain in every sense of the word. I basically paid less than unpaintedprice for a good paint job and an excellent paint job. I really cant complain. I do like painting my own but for the price of £1 per figure then it was a non brainier. However some of the Ebay prices are silly, do people not even look at the original price on the websites. Take a figure for Flintloque. A KGL trooper on Alternative armies sitting at £5.00 jump to eBay same figure £8.99 with £2.30 postage. Now some of the rare figures are going for silly money…well they are rare, but charging £12.00 for something still available from Alternative armies for £4.00 is really taking the pee a bit.
Strangely enough some of the expensive stuff are on for 28 days at a time (I have seen them for over 6 months)…someone is obviously an optimist why pay £!8 when you can buy it on eBay for £30.
I shall no doubt keep perusing to see if anymore bargains pop up. A huge orc collection went a few weeks ago for about £70 strangely enough an awful lot of £9.99 blister packs have appeared, but again the same would cost £6-8 and are still available from Alternative Armies. Not dissing anyone for an entrepreneurial spirit in the slightest, but it does just make me wonder how it all works.
