I worked on the blue.

My overall wash darkened the blue too much so I have had to lighten it up a fair bit.

Still the highlights to do on the uniform jacket.

I blasted through these tonight. Just realised I missed a wash on the eyes…. poot!

I managed a little bit today. The highlight on the old troll’s trousers is a bit too bright. I will tone it down a bit.

I doubt I will get anything done this evening but we shall see.

Managed to do a smidgeon on Scwartzenbark and to shape the pole on the Brougham.

Hopefully I will be able to crack on later this evening and tomorrow.

I do like these bones figures. They come as a white plastic figure that is really well detailed. The good thing is that they are nice and cheap. 

The ogre chieftain is £2.25, the cave troll sits at £2.00 with the werewolf coming in at a mere £2.55.
They are big beasties too. They are stood next to a Perry’s French Agincourt knight.

The models take the paint really well, this actually Surprised me a bit. I was obviously remembering my old plastic Airfix figures that the paint would spring off.

The werewolf is based differently as I want him for Flintloque type adventures. The others are part of my Dragon Rampant forces where everything is on circular bases.

I had a bit of Milliput spare…

And if you are wondering….toffee cow???

First time I ever heard them called a toffee cow was at RAF Machrihanish. A flight sergeant was doing a slide show on mountain rescue and said “no matter where he went there was always a toffee cow”. The name has stuck ever since.

Well I decided to lift the pole up a bit.

This is the start of the process…

The matchstick is there to keep the milliput pole at the height I wanted.

I will extend the milliput back to meet the turntable then trim down the mdf at bit from where it joins.

Nos morituri te salutamus …. not sure if they ever said it en masses but hey.

The arena and gladiators are all done. I have worked on everything solidly for the last couple of hours to get it finished.

I am now tired. I can go to bed happy in the knowledge that everything is done. I just hope people turn up tomorrow to play it. I managed to purchase chocolate coins to present to the winners of each combat. Sadly the coins are not Roman, but strangely enough I couldn’t find any chocolate sestertius or aureus. Maybe next year….
