I eventually got the L’espirit du Gard finished. I know I go on a bit about favourite figures, but this lot have to be one of my favourite units in the Flintloque range.

I have a mounted unit of these too, I will eventually get around to painting them.

One thing I am pleased about is that I am managing to get a bit of painting done each night. As I have said before. The painting helps me chill out and the blog kind of keeps me motivated to get more painting done.

Tomorrow I am going to get the undead gunners finished. Having had a quick look at them I need to paint the ramrod and put a wash on a beard. I think I might manage to get a few more figures started too. I will also have to get the gun done as well.

Having had a look in the boxes, I must get the re-animator and the Ferach hospital set done too.

So many figures so little time. 😱😱😱

I managed to do a bit more painting tonight.

I think I have found another favourite character. I have always liked this figure. He is an officer of the quasi 6th Hussars. Whereas with the zombies, I went through a phase of hating them, I have enjoyed painting him from start to finish. I still have a bit to go on him but he is getting close.

The Golem whom I have named Egor is getting there too. The highlight is too light on the grey so I will either redo it or put a glaze over it, similarly with his head.

The doctor is just about finished too. I forgot to photograph him.

Madame Boniface is making progress…

I am not sure how I am going to do her dress. I did consider simply using a wash and if so… what colour?

Still a lot to do on her, hopefully she will be finished tomorrow.

The two cavalry are lagging a bit behind, simply because the blue and red I used on the others is in work.

My unpainted pile of Flintloque is growing again. I still have stuff on top of these from Christmas to paint. I still have to finish my undead artillery, they have sat like this since 8th December.

Not to mention everything else I have bought recently. My Bier and Bones figures to start with and I did order some more Finkelstein ogres and the resin Savant zombies, well there was free postage 🤣.

I am really enjoying getting back into the swing of painting every day, there are a lot more talented figure painters out there it is true. But this is about enjoyment of accomplishment.

I have been contemplating the way I disliked painting the zombies. I am beginning to wonder if it was a combination of oldish paint that didn’t flow that well (more like tar than paint) and trying to squeeze a bit of painting into a short session which is normally interspersed with telephone calls. Funnily enough I got them finished at home and that Was when I felt happier with them too.
