A Bit of Grey, Metal and Skin

Yes I got a bit more done this evening…

The female guard was not re-undercoated, I actually thought Sod it. She can’t help it if everyone else has their tabard upside down or back to front!

I am now off for a week, got a ton of DIY to do, but hopefully will have enough free time  to get making stuff for my course which starts on Sat 7th November….eek!

As all the cool kids are using a Proxxon hot wire cutter I have ordered one, along with a pile of other bits and pieces. Mainly from Temu as I decided to miss out the middle man and get the cheap shit direct.

Blue, White, Orange and Whoops!

I am a bit knackered today but decided to paint something.

As the civilians and guards were Undercoated then they seemed suitable.

Well off I set…

Did a few civilians in the blue then decided as the blue was out already went for Lady Merron’s guards as these are quartered blue and white. I did the female guard first, then did everyone else the other way around…. I did swear a bit!

Typical that these are the off white undercoat, but as it is just her (oh and part of one leg on another) I will just use white…

Knights Done

I ran 7 hours of moving and handling training today so was a bit zonked. I did manage to get the knights finished off…

As you can see from the first pic, it is always a good idea to check both sides before deciding they are painted.

My Temu order arrived, cheapskate I know, but ..

Anyway I got a tiny mitre block that was 3D printed and sadly it is a bit warped…

It’s really hard to photograph a curve, to make it look like one so I grabbed the straightest thing I could find. I have shoved it under something heavy to try and flatten it out. It was dirt cheap so not stressing too much

I ordered some cheap stuff for my course which begins in a month!

Halt!

“Madam, Yes you with the Fish! Halt and explain yourself! My men are armed and ….I said HALT….Bugger! Unfortunately the last words of Guard Captain Fishwife. A poor name in the circumstances

The last civilian and five guards from the sprues. For some of the guards I mixed in bits from the sergeants sprue and also gave the female one flowing locks from the civilian set.

Now I think I still have more civilians and definitely have more guards to go. I will build them once this lot are painted.

I also have five sergeants and a knight left to build too.

Battlefield Looters?

As I needed to have a bit of a snooze this afternoon I decided to stay up late and make some more civilians.

I started with the gentleman and thought about him being a bit of a tinker or something but then I saw the weapon roll and the looter was born. His wife followed suit with her ‘found’ sword and a bag of coins she just happened to find along a track.

Got one lady left to build and then onto the five guards.

Even more Civilians

So left to right:

An enchantress?

Beggar, maybe, but definitely down on his luck.

A lady with a purposeful stride and an interesting sack of something.

A woodcutter? Body from Traitor’s Toll, arms and head from the militia/foot sergeant set.

Finally a youngish lady who seems to be carrying nothing.

Next…

More Civilians!

Well I couldn’t find my super thick Sharpie so was going to give up on models tonight. Then I remembered I could build some.forgit to bring my knife with me and sadly my snips let me down. Once the glue has fully cured I will get the lumps and bumps cleaned off.

The two males are a mix of Traitor’s Toll and the militia sprue. They go together nicely.

Tomorrow I shall make another few. Five female and three male civilians and then five guards.

Muddy Streets

Well this evening I got on and painted the bases using Greenstuff World Skeleton Brown.

Tomorrow I will get the rims painted.

Oh I will need to get the gesticulating archer’s skin painted.

I also need to finish the knights on the flank.
