Final six Knights

Well the final six were built about twenty minutes ago. The six remaining heavies were armed with hand weapons. Well five were, the sixth is a banner bearer.

Now to be honest I am in a bit of a quandary, do I bother with the sword scabbard and visors or not…

Something to ponder before undercoating them all.

All twenty four of them…

I have been doing bits and pieces on my druid bust too.

The leaves have taken on a more autumnal hue than the previous iteration.

More French Knights

Should that be ‘plus de chevaliers français’? Anyway I made another six heavies this evening.

I am going to armour all of these horses with mail or plate armour. This will set them apart from the other lance wielding troops.

It will also allow them to mix in with others as they are all heavies. I will also look to add some visors in both raised and lowered positions.

Tomorrow I will hopefully complete the last half dozen. I won’t get much more than get them undercoated as I am heading South either my son to visit Claymore Wargames Show in Edinburgh.

We get the Ferry down on Thursday evening, spend Friday night in a hotel and then drive over to the show on Saturday morning, Hotel Saturday night then back up the road for the ferry on Sunday.

He wants to visit a GW shop as well as a Bird of Prey Centre whilst we are off gallivanting.

Chevauchée or Bust

So my light mounted archers are ready to head off into enemy territory. The Chevauchée was a raid to spread destruction, pillage and generally cause a problem for the enemy population. The raiding force would be designed to demoralise as well as steal as much as they could.

Civilian infrastructure and the general population were the target of the Chevauchée.  I am going to see what small farm animals I can find to hang from the saddles as well as sacks etc.

I also finished off one of my sci fi wasteland dudes as well as worked a bit more on the druid bust.

Back with the Knights

This time I am talking about posh dudes on horses. Yes my two boxes of mounted Agincourt knights arrived today. So after spraying the big mech knight I did a quick build of half a dozen heavies, as opposed to lights. My plan is for three heavy units and one light.

The one in the rear middle definitely has something odd going on with his visor. This came as a separate piece and maybe I have glued it on in the wrong spot, either  that or I accidently moved it before the glue set it in place.

One thing I haven’t noticed with the Perry plastics is a lot of flash (apologies for the naff pic). All of the human sprues had some flash where tye plastic has squeezed between the two faces of the moulds.

Top left and bottom right are really obvious here. On the other spue the torso top right had a huge fan  from the top of his helmet to the lower back.

I shall hopefully carry on with these tomorrow.

The Whole Force

Well okay there are technically three forces and some interlopers!

So on the left we have the Hundred Years War English and on the left the Hundred Years War French. Both boxes have Wars of the Roses cavalry, heavy in the left and light in the right. The English box also has Aragorn leading a detachment of rangers…

Sadly I didn’t have time to flock everything this evening.

We will be playing Lion Rampant tomorrow.

While I was looking for this lot I came across my original dwarf from Heroquest… I had even painted him, sadly forgot the base though!

Next to him is an original goblin I think. I am sure the Advanced Heroquest had a shield.

All Done

Well that is the eighteen infantry and six cavalry painted. It was a bit of a rush job, but I got there this evening. As I said yesterday, they won’t win any prizes, but they are done apart from the bases. I will get those done tomorrow.

So here they are with the paint still wet…

I am just hoping that the ones in the shed that I think are done are actually finished. I will find out tomorrow.

I would have done it this evening, but I am knackered and really cannot be bothered.

I will add them all together and see what they look like. I know the crossbow men are in a specific livery, I think I have some liveried spears too.

Panicked Painting Progress.

Well I eventually got started on the pile of plastic for Saturday. Six mounts and six infantry finished.

My son worked hard on the mounted gendarme on the right too.

So that leaves me with twelve foot and six cavalrymen to do.

Will mine win any prizes- nope but they are getting done and that is all I want.

I have actually got some Agincourt mounted knights in a shopping cart somewhere, I just have to remember which site I was on!

Painting Panic

Well Loreil Softvale is on hold for a few days. Thule Gamers is having a big game on Saturday and I said I would go along.

Now I could borrow miniatures, but where is the fun in that soooo.. I decided to break out my unfinished Hundred Years War Agincourt miniatures and try and get a force from them…queue panicked music…

This is what is left… oh yeah the cavalry are Wars of the Roses… the cavalry wasn’t our when I started these… easier to paint though. My son said he wanted to help so tomorrow we begin.
