So this evening I got my finger out and did a bit more on the Sisters…
Apologies for the bit of a blurry photo. I actually thought my eyes had given up the ghost. I have added gold and ‘enchanted’ iron as well as some leather too. I reckon i will be done in another couple of evenings if I keep cracking on.
Well it was absolutely my intention to get painting but I am going to run a Geek Club 2.0 in my new school. Off I set to print off some pumpkins for them to have a taster session. Sadly my flamin’ hard drive wouldn’t upen. Turns out it was a dodgy cable, thankfully I had a spare available. So a lot of wasted time occurred. I did manage to slice them and get the printer running. I took a bit of a risk with the resin left in the vat… I gave it a damn good stir… I will find out in 10 minutes if I should have dumped it.
Anyway, when I was out there I rescued this lot…
Eight archers and six can openers. I have the two already on the round bases so Eight of each. I also have the fantasyesque Jean D’arc too. The mounted version is already painted…
Well this evening I went for a bit of a cop out and took a photo of the cavalry in their entirety…
This is the full twenty seven of them. If you remember, if I went off and bought half a dozen of the Perry horses then I could build another six, but to be honest I think I will leave them be for the time being.
So what next, we’ll to be honest my eyes were automatically drawn to this lot that were sat next to the druid bust…
I need to finish the frog riders to make a unit for Dragon Rampant. There are also the two chaps at the front… evidently because. I don’t know any better then I, for some reason printed another ten with pole arms and about the same with bows. I must have done it way back in June. Must be off my head. To be honest at the time, I wasn’t going to do any more but kind of fell down the rabbit hole of each knight needing a bit of a retinue! Luckily I stopped short of going for some mounted sergeants too.
I also want to do some Steppe and Coastal goblins too. Why? Because I always wanted a goblin army when I was playing the game lots. I did have a unit of forty night goblins complete with fanatics as well as chariots and wolf riders, but the force also included orks of various types.
That is the final six mounted knights done. So all twenty four are finished. Well when I say finished I will need to do add some white onto the horses round the legs and faces (still the penultimate half dozen to do too. I will need some form of banner for both sets too.
As you can see, these are all with horse armour. So a lot of metal paint for these. The more I have looked at these then the more I think the gilded helmets are going to he painted silver/gun metal.
Not sure where I am going next…
You will be amazed to hear that the printer hasn’t been on for months… in fact this is the last thing I did…
I reckon the last time I powered it up was 9th/10th July.
Well today I have managed to get the penultimate half dozen finished.
I am actually quite pleased that I don’t actually have six left. In fact I have five… if you remember I did an extra miniature when I did the mounted bowmen…
The French knights trying out the English banner for size!
So here we have the remaining five… ready to go – so to speak…
I forgot to take my steroids today so am feeling a little wobbly right now. If I feel a bit less ropey later on then I will try and crack on with them.
I spent some time this evening working on another half dozen knights.
I did consider getting them completely finished, but got to the point of instant avoidance. This was rather foolish as pretty much it was down to the broze stirrups and bits at the mouth.
But they should be finished in about 20 minutes. Some white on the legs and faces of the horses will add to the effect.
On the downside I didn’t get them finished, on the upside I got them nearly finished 😉.
Well this evening was another try and chill one so I went for more painting of the knights.
I got this six to the touch up stage. This leaves a dozen. Half of them are on armoured horses.
Tomorrow I will try and progress another six. Not sure what to paint after these. I will have to sort out bases so they can fit into the movement trays. What I need to do is measure the originals and get in some MDF ones. Technically I could 3D print some, but really cannot be bothered.
So this evening in a bid to try and reduce my stress levels I decided to have a bash at the French knights.
Stress levels didn’t come down much but I did get some miniatures a bit further forward. I also finished my English standard and and got it stuck onto the banner pole. After the photo was taken I got the paper closer into the pole while the glue was still wet.
Well I nearly got these finished. The painting is pretty much over. I have spotted some bits I missed so they need a touch up. I took about half an hour trying to paint a swallow tailed banner for the English bowmen. I gave up on that then went for my paint pens which were crap. I totally lost heart and gave up. I will either get some banners or use my nice coloured pencils.
I might make some on the computer and then colour those. A bit like the Flintloque ones from ages ago…
