Frog Riders…

Well this evening I went to the gaming club so didn’t get much time to get anything painted. I made a start on my frog riders…

The biggest problem I had with these was making sure I had chosen the same green as the other three that were already painted. This was in fact Greenstuff World Dipping ink, which thankfully was in the house and still usable.

My son and I are having a painting session tomorrow. He is doing some fantasy chaos dudes (Blades of Khorne). I shall carry on with the frogs.

They are Growing on Me

So last night I decided that although nearly finished I had gone off the Sisters. As the title says, they are now growing on me.

A few things struck me today. The First being I absolutely detested painting up my mates 40k Nuns with Guns. Perhaps it biased me a bit. The second is that I just finished a lot of brightly coloured knights, although there was a lot of armour, there was enough bright colours to nullify it a bit. Also let’s not forget I have had a really tricky start to my new job. Stress levels have been through the roof, so perhaps this influenced how I felt.

The other thing that struck me was that I really am not too keen on the two on the left, and to be honest it is mainly the second one in. I am peeved that the leader has her left hand on backwards, not that you can really tell at first glance…

A big thanks to John and Az for the positive vibes.

Tomorrow my son wants to paint things and I have three frog riders to do so back to bright colours.

Almost There….

Well after walking the dog I came back in and set to work on these, fully intending to do only a little bit and instead I pushed on and nearly got them done.

I am going to be honest here, I kind of don’t like them. Really not sure why! They are painted to my usual ‘slap it on’ style. Maybe it is the colour pallette, maybe because I had to start them again, or the fact they were printed nearly two years ago. Whatever the reason I will be really glad to see the back of them.

I will finish them tomorrow and maybe with Wednesday eyes I might feel a bit happier with them.  On the upside I took a better photo today.

Nuns with Armour

So this evening I got my finger out and did a bit more on the Sisters…

Apologies for the bit of a blurry photo. I actually thought my eyes had given up the ghost. I have added gold and ‘enchanted’ iron as well as some leather too. I reckon i will be done in another couple of evenings if I keep cracking on.

More on the Nuns

Well okay they aren’t exactly nuns, but I was getting sick of writing ‘sisters’.

Still a lot of white, but also a lot more metal. Yes tonight I was working on the armour.

I am really wanting these out of the way, not sure why, maybe because they have been sitting there for a couple of years or maybe because the Mordheim phase has passed.

One day it may come back, but until then I will keep painting  what I have to at least get them out of the way.

More Sisters

So I managed to get some more done on the Sisters of Sigmar this evening…

So this is them all. Going for a tan/brown to complement the red. Was actually a happy accident as I did the hair on the fourth from the right and really liked it.

Still lots to do, but making progress.

Pumpkin Success

So I ran my little taster session today and ended up with sixteen children who came along. Twelve girls and four boys. I got my camera out to take a photo and then a crisis occurred so… no photo.

The kids seemed to enjoy themselves and were very keen to come back next term and try something more complicated. Because of the numbers I will have to split them into two groups

I ended up faffing about on the hard drive by downloading all of the orks and goblins from Highland Miniatures. By time I got this done I decided it was too late to start painting… edit… I decided I needed to paint something today so started on the Sisters…

As you can see, I have decided on red instead of the blue and cream I did last time. Funnily enough I am a lot happier with them at this stage than I was before!

The previous colour scheme.

Pumpkins

Yes the printer worked with the ancient resin, well noy exactly ancient, but kept in the vat instead of the bottle.

I have twenty four of these little chaps for the kids to paint tomorrow.

I have them undercoated now and have a car full of paint, bases and flock.

Wish me luck, I actually haven’t got a clue when we are going to get them done tomorrow. We break up for the October break so will have to get them started and finished in one go.

Archers and Can Openers

Well it was absolutely my intention to get painting but I am going to run a Geek Club 2.0  in my new school. Off I set to print off some pumpkins for them to have a taster session. Sadly my flamin’ hard drive wouldn’t upen. Turns out it was a dodgy cable, thankfully I had a spare available. So a lot of wasted time occurred. I did manage to slice them and get the printer running. I took a bit of a risk with the resin left in the vat… I gave it a damn good stir… I will find out in 10 minutes if I should have dumped it.

Anyway, when I was out there I rescued this lot…

Eight archers and six can openers. I have the two already on the round bases so Eight of each. I also have the fantasyesque Jean D’arc too. The mounted version is already painted…

Hopefully painting will occur tomorrow!

Next!

Well I was trying to decide what to paint next. It was going to be the frog cavalry, with some potential human retinue miniatures, but the latter were in the bottom shed and needed putting on some bases. They then needed undercoating. In my attempt to find the bases then I came across these looking like this.

Therefore I think these will be next. I had them on a blue and cream livery before and for some reason I hated it…

So I resprayed… I now don’t like the skin tone as it is too dark, but you know what, I recon I can live with it.

So hopefully tomorrow I will come up with a colour I can be happy with.
